The custom of throwing confetti at weddings is gradually fading out. At ppe time it was the regular practice at all weddings for friends of the bride and bridegroom to shower them with handfuls of confetti as they loft *ho church, hut in recent years this form of expressing goodwill has become almost the exception, rather than fhe rule. It was noticeable at a wedding at the Christchurch'' 1 Cathedral last week, with a large crowd of people waiting outside to- greet the couple, that. not so much as a pioco of confetti made its. appearance, and ‘perhaps the day is not far off - .when this custom; which, followed that of throwing rice, will entirely disappear.
