The fifth member of a family of seven has recently perished in the village of Kobilya, near Petravats, in Eastern Yugoslavia, in coseqiience of terror inspired by an ''apparition” over a space of thi’e.e years. The alleged apparition took the form of a. headless man, who, it is said, appeared every night in the bedroom of a peasant, named Michael Stanoyevitch. The first victims of the apparition were -the three elder children. Then,' after having vain recourse to the .cmirch, witches, and the police, their father shot himselfLast of all, the mother died of exhaustion and terror.
