GIRL DROAVNED IN LAGOON (Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. A girl, aged 14 years, Chri Line Braudigan, daughter of Mr Richard Braudigan, forest ranger at Taupo. was drowned this afternoon when bathing in a. lagoon off the Taupo road about three miles from Rbtbrii/E Deceased, who was accompanied by. a girl friend., went bathing in ‘the - lagoon while her companion watched from the bank. The bather soon got into' difficulties and. although' her companion tried to save her/ with '' a length of flax, she sank in/.lfl.t.dof wafer. A diving party of, Maoris frpjn Whakarewarewa searched for, , tfio body under police supervision, hut without success. ; Y
