Vice-Admirals A. G. Hotham and Sir A. P. Addison have been promoted Admirals and placed on tlie rctii'ed list, says a London A.P.A. cable.
After a period of 41 years iu Hustings, tlie Rev. Hubert Speight hasaccepted the parish of Patutahi, and ho will leave to take over:-his new duties at the end of next month, (states the 'Napier Telegraph); A£he Itev. Mr. Speight was ordained dea-: eon in St. Matthew’s Church', fastings, by Bishop Sedgwick,' in July. 1928, and was elevated to the priest; hood a year later. He has been assistant curate at the church and with Mrs. Speight has proved a great and popular worker. They will both be greatly missed,.iffiutwill carry with them the best'wishes for their future career. Both. Mr. and Mrs. Speight have lived in Hawke’s Bay for many years, for at different periods Mr. Speight has been headmaster of the schools at Eskdale, Port Aliuriri and Havelock North.
