Mrs. ■ Woodroff, wife of an accountant of the British-Aineriean Tobacco Company, stationed at Harbin, was taking her children to school in a motor car when she encountered bandits. The chauffeur turned sharply to avoid them, when’ he was shot and wounded. Mrs Woodruff jumped from the ear with her children, but she .was shot dead.
