A discussion took place, on the question of the annual subscription,; •which the meeting decided to leave as at present. With a view to attracting young players hoys are to ho admitted at a foe of 15s and girls at 10s, the hours of: play to be fixed by the committee. It iwas decided that the season be opened on October 22. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. R. IT. Semple; lion, secretary, Mr. J. Harriinun; treasurer, Mr. G. B. GOLF CLUB BUYS NEW I.AMW

At a special general meeting of members of the Opotiki Golf Club hold yesterday evening a proposition, lor leasing MeGrevy Bros.’ Tablelands 'properly, together with a proposition for purchasing Air E. M. Hutchinson’s golf links property, was considered and, in the absence of a purchasing clause in respect of the Tablelands' property, the club resolved fo ourehaso Mr Hutchinson's golf links property at £3O per acre upon Mr Hutchinson's terms. It was also resolved that the necessary cash deposit be provided by each member ooirtribuf.iiig Ihe sum of £1 ,10s. It is flio intention of the committee. to provide the club with an IS-liole course and; for that purpose, it was resolved to arrange, immediately lor the services of a golf architect.
