The number of insured persons in employment on September 26, the date of the latest Ministry of Labor report, was approximately 923,200. The figure, however, was substantially reduced owing to the trade dispute in the inamilaeturing section of the cotton industry. Otherwise there would have been an increase of about 37,000 in the number of persons in work compared with one month ago, and about 31,000 compared with one year ago. The total number of unemployed on the registers on September 26 was 2,119,218 wholly unemployed, 639,160 temporarily stopped, and 99,633 normally in casual employment. The total .which is ISI7 less than the number on the registers- in August, comprise 2.303,152 men, 1 9,644 boys, 420,034 women,' and 05,151’ girls.F-
