Damage to tho extent of £IOO,OOO was done by a mysterious tire, which destroyed the Fairey Aviation Company’s experimental works at Humble, including ten of the worlds fastest seaplanes, which were being tested before delivery to the ileet air arm. One was saved. The tire originated in the main office arid spread so rapidly that the huge wooden building was a burning mass before tho brigades could get to work. The fifty feet flames were seen twenty miles away.
