Nelson cricket team played a onedav match here to-day oil their way to "Hamilton to play South Auckland for the Hawke Cup. Kollo 39, Scared 23, Neale 18 and Busch 17 were the principal scorers in Nelson’s total. Mellington ran up 257 for seven wickets and then applied the closure (Dempster 60, Larnason 67 not out, James 34, Morgan 27, EM 19, Coltman 18). The catching of the'Nelson men was very faulty, Dempster being dropped four times. Nelson, in its second innings, scored 135 for six wickets (lldife 57, A. Newman 36). Brow no took three for 35. The Nelson team left for Hamilton to-night.
