HORTICULTURAI, WEEK OPENING AT CHRISTCHURCH (Press Association/ CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 20. Horticultural Week opened this morning, when a civic welcome was tendered to visitinq delegates, the bodies represented being the. New Zealand Institute of Horticulture, the Fruitgrowers’ Association, the Now Zealand University, tlic State Forest Service, the Association of Nurserymen, the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, tho Forestry League, and various horticultural societies. Tho deputy-Alayor, the Rev. J. K. Archer, and Mrs O. AV. B. Anderson, chairman of the Christchurch Horticultural Society, welcomed the delegates. Mr J. .A. Campbell. Director of Horticulture, replied, and Sir. Heaton Rhodes then opened the conference,, which is proceeding. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. PRESIDENT RESIGNS (Press 'Association) WELLINGTON, .Tan. 26. Mr. C. M.
