The newspapers welcome the announcement that the negotiation* for an extension of the .so-called standstill agreement over Germany’s, foreign short-term liabilities liavo re a ch od a successful conclusion after weeks of arduous discussion. The agreement, was initialled in Berlin on Saturday by the negotiating committee, prolonging with certain modifications the existing agreement, which expires at the end of February, for a further Twelve months. The agreement is to be submitted to the -arious national committees for approval.
