There are a variety of proofs that the depression lias struck America. Babe Ruth to-dav returned unsigned his contract calling for 70.000 dollars payment for baseball services in 1932. He said that . the 10,000 dollars reduction under last year’s payment was acceptable, but ho must" have a two-year contract. The Baseball Club management recently declared, “Never again would there he a ball player worth 80.000, dollars.” Au amicable adjustment, however, is expected. '
