DOUBLE BRITISH BILL

An excellent British programme will he screened for tho last- time to-day. The first feature is “Compromising Daphne”. The ingenious means by which a modern young couple overcome parental opposition to their early marriage has been turned to excellen account as the basis for an hilarious story. Besides the vivacious Daphne, played by Jean Colin, and the timorous and excitable George Charles Hickman, who is tho unwilling victim of her plan,’there are excellent minor characterisations by a cast of accomplished London stage artists. The second feature, “Young Woodley” stars Frank Lawton and Madeleine Carroll. The story deals with a. public schoolboy’s love for wife. Frank Lawton’s portrayal of Y’oung Woodley .made the play; lie more than, repeats that success -in the film. Madeleine Carroll puts up by far her Lest performance to date, and Sam Livesay presents the hidebound conventional headmaster.

TWO STAR FILMS TO-MORROW

The most notable role Conrad Nagel over played in his busy screen career is to be seen at the Majestic tomorrow, in First National’s big offering, “The Right of Way.” Nagel plays “Charles Steele” the hero of the famous novel and drama by Sir Gilbert Parker. Lorettc Young plays opposite him and Fred Kohler has another outstanding role. Other notable players in the cast are William Jannev, George Pearce, Harry Cording, and Brandon Hurst. The second feature, “Misbehaving Ladies” a modern romantic comedy, is carried along on a note, of joyous hilarity. Accomplished artists play the leading parts, _ including Lila Lee, Ben Lyon, Louise Fazenda, and Luciep Littlefield. The whimsical storytells of a small-town hollo, who goes' abroad, marries a European prince and iff tho chief topic of uncharitable gossip when she returns homo alone and subdued. The denouement is as delightful a* it is unexpected. , '
