The Prime Minister, Mr; Ramsay MacDonald, presiding at the final plenary session of the Burma Conference, prefaced the statement of the Government’s policy by cominunicat- . ing to the Conference a rriessage from ' the King, in which His Majesty expresses formal thanks for the loyal 'message sent-by the conference, add* ing:— \ \;; .
“Having followed -lyith : close interest your proceedings,. I realise how varied and complex are the problems calling for solution between the -Governments of-Burma and .‘lndia. I earnestly trust that- the result of your deliberations will further the prosperity and development .of your, country, and at the conclusion of your. labors I sendr you. best wishes for a safe return to your, Rome:”; .
