GENERAL MANAGER’S TOUR OF
THE DOMINION
MR A.' C. DAVIDSON TO ARRIVE IN GISBORNE TO-MORROW
The .general manager of the Bank of New South, Wales, Mr A. C. Davidson, who is making a tour of the Dominion; will arrive here .to-mor-row evening, accompanied by Sirs Davidson, and his private secretary. Mr Davidson will remain a few days in Gisborne, and here lio will renew acquaintanceship with a large circle of friends, as he was in charge of the Gisborne branch of the bank from 1929 to 1924, being transferred to Wellington as sub-inspector.
In the course of an interview in Auckland Mr Davidson stated he was 'anxious to investigate at first hand financial and economic conditions in 'the Dominion, and obtain the views of business men concerning the country’s outlook. As the bank had been represented in New Zealand for over 70 years and its policy had always been to maintain considerable sums invested in tbe Dominion, it had every reason to be vitally concerned in the country’s welfare and prosperity. • The Bank of New South Wales is tbe oldest and largest bank, in Australia and New Zealand, and since its amalgamation with tbe Australian Bank of Commerce, Ltd., the total deposits exceed £84,000,000, Of the C9O brandies, 81 are in the Dominion.
