THE ROYAL TRAIN.
The composition of the Royal train varies according to the journey for which it is intended, but 2-0 special coaches are used solely to make up the train (says the “‘Weekly Scotsman”). The King enters his saloon through polished double doors oocniug on to a square vestibule. Tins leads into the smoking-room, which is finished in- mahogany. The King usually occupies the smoking-room when he is travelling during the daytime. In each corner is an ample green morocco leather armchair with a table by the side of each. Next to tho smoking-room is the day compartment. on which the Queen- spent a great deal of time choosing material to harmonise with the general color scheme. Tlie compartment contains a desk fitted for dealing, if necessary, with affairs of State.
