A TERRIFIC EXPLOSION (UF A. by Elec. TeT. CttjM’right.i (Received Nov. 19. 11 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 19. A terrific explosion and fire completely wrecked two brick chops and extensively damaged a third at Clifton Ball, a suburb, this morning. Nobody was injured. The explosion was heard a mile away. It is believed it was caused by an escape of gas. WITHIN REACH EGYPT’S STORE OF BULLION (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel, Copyright.) (Received Nov. 19, 9.40 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 19. Tho Times Brest correspondent says: ‘‘The prize is at last within reach, but bad weather again forced the Artiglio to return to port. The bullion room is being left wide open and it 1s only necessary to let down a grab to bring up a substantial sample of the Egypt’s treasure. The storm and heavy swell yesterday prevented even this effort. Nevertheless, Oommendatore Quaglia and the Artiglio’s crew are determined before abandoning the Egypt -for the winter, to await one more chance of proving the success of six months’ hard work.
