HAUITI BURGLARY
A CONFUSION OF NAMES {SOURCE OF POLICE INFORMATION > r * : \ Similarity in names between two well-known Coast residents has resulted in a number of errors, amusing and otherwise, at different- times and still another was added to the list in a message published in the Times yesterday morning. The residents concerned are Mr George Neill, of the To Puka Hotel, Tckomani Bay, and Constable George Neale, of Tolaga Bay. It was mentiond in ysterday’s issue that certain information supplied to the Gisborne police led to the arrest of tyo young men. charged ■with breaking, entering and theft from tho premises of Mr. H. P. do Montalk at Haniti. The message further intimated that this information was telephoned through to Gisborne by Mr G A. Neill, but the actual case was that Constable Neale had secured the information in tho coursoiof his inquiries into the burglary, the confusion in names arising during the receipt of the message by telephone. _ Mr Neill, who has been indisposed for tho past 'two weeks, was not -associated in any way with the apprehension of the accused;
