One of the foreign journalists living in Melbourne has received information from a well-known friend in Paris that M. Leon Trotsky, the former Soviet leader, is trying hard to secure permission to visit Australia.
The report from Paris is that Trotsky’s friends believe they mightget him permission if they applied through the. Sydney Labor extremists." It is claimed that Trotsky regards his political career as ended, and that he wants to visit Australia, solely to study our conditions and to enable him to write a hook on the new democracy in the Southern Hemisphere. Ot,her information received from Paris, however, indicates that Trotsky’s desire to visit Australia, is inspired by his friends in the Kremlin. Ho is thought to lie seeking a leeoucilintion with Stalin.
