Chinese court authorities* in Shanghai have made it an offence for a barber to cut a woman’s hair without the consent or knowledge of her husband. The wife in the test case, said that she had pleaded with her husband on numerous occasions to let her follow the dictates of fashion, and to have her locks shorn' emphasising the discomfort of abundant hair in the summer.
