NATIONAL SAVINGS CERTIFICATE.
(British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Dee. 31. His, -Majesty'- the King will be presented next week with a _ representation of tbo thousand millionth National Savings Certificate sold. The certificate will be mounted and appropriately inscribed. About 170.000.000 certificates have been sold since February. The present weekly average of sales is the highest for many years.
GENEROUS GIFT TO OXFORD
(British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Jan. 1
Mrs Edward Harkness, of New York, wife of the founder of the Pilgrim Trust, has presented £35,000 for the erection of new buildings to accommodate students to Lady Margaret Hall, the senior women’s college. at Oxford.
