Eight United Stales marines were killed, and two seriously injured when they were ambushed by bandits said to have been operating in a new offensive under the rebel, General Sandino. Marines have been fighting the •bandits almost weekly for months, but this is tlie first time for over a year that they have suffered heavy losses.
