RUGBY, Dec. 7. The president of the Board of Trade, Mr. Grabpm, expressed the opinion that the. opening months of the new year see a steady but sloiy reduction ijp unemployment. Replying to criticism regarding the Government’s decision to allow the Dyestuffs Act to lapse, he said the textile industries were employing from 750,000 to 1,000,000 men, compared with ' 7000 or . 8000 before the Act came into force. The industry had represented to the Government that the restricting effects of tho Act. handicapped them. He was convinced that a policy of fiscal freedom was better and safer for a great exporting country.
