Tobacco is growing ahead in the Nelson district and good progress is being made m the Auckland province, but last year there were no returns from other districts. According to a return submitted to Parliament -Nelson commenced tobacco production in 1925, Auckland entering the field in 1928-29, when the production comprised : Nelson district, 1,062,3921 b; Auckland, 45.2001 b; other districts, 60,0091 b.
