TWO MEN FOR) TRIAL

ALLEGED OFFENCES AGAINST GIRL

A further echo of happenings at Rere some months, ago. was heard in the Police Court, before' Mr P. 11. Harper, S.M., yesterday, when two men, . Clarence Allen Gyde and Ernest- Binder faced, charges of alleged carnal knowledge of a girl under the. age of 16. Both accused pleaded not guilty and were committed to the Supremo Court at Gisborne for trial. Detective. McLeod prosecuted and Mr R. B. Hill appeared for both accused.

The charge against Gyde was proceeded with first. Hid girl’s aunt gave .evidence that the girl had been under the charge of witness since" she was five , yea.rs old.
