A conference of primary produeingbnnking. mercantile and insurance interests met in Sydney and made an appeal for the man oil the land. The chairman, Air. James Kidd, said the country people were bleeding to death. It was stated that the debts of wheat farmers to business men. storekeepers, and the Rural Industries Board amounted to £10.500.000. A large proportion of the graziers were in a similar plight.
The conference urged measures to reduce the costs of production, and to form a State and Federal Council.
