SUMMARY AND FORECAST WELLINGTON, Oct. 2. —General Situation— A fairly intense anti-cyclone is advancing on to the Dominion from the Tasman 'Sea. Winds: Moderate south-westerlies, later backing to west and north-west in and south of Cook Strait, strong at times in Foveaux Strait. Sea-s (N.Z. waters): Still rather rough south of Castlepoint and north of Cape Egmont, but decreasing except about Foxeaux Strait, south-west to north-west winds and elsewhere moderate. Tasman Sea: Light’ to moderate smooth to moderate seas in the F,astern Tasman. Weather: Fair to fine generally, except for scattered showers about Foveaux Strait and in the extreme north. Cold night temperatures with many frosts, but milder to-morrow.
