Francis McGovern, -25, a jockey, was arrested in an hotel early this morning on a charge of stealing at Point Riper, Sydney, between September 3 and 13, from tho dwelling of John Sydney Eovill, one diamond and platinum brooch, other diamond jewellery, two suitcases, and two pairs of binoculars, of a total value of £2IOO. The accused was remanded fill October 9, a detective saving that an escort was coming from Sydney. Counsel asked that the accused's name be suppressed, saying that the charge looked ominous, but Ins . client had a complete answer to it. The magistrate refused suppression, and also refused to grant bail.
