TUESDAY, SERIFAIBER dO. Tuesday being operatic nighw at IYA. some very attractive items have been arranged. IYA String motet will play “Les Salfimbaugnes, ' “BaeelianaJe” (from Samson and Delilah”), and selections from “Lilac Time” and ‘Lucia di LammermoorD' Schubert’s “Ave ALuia” - will be played as a violin solo by Air. Haydn Murray. The vocalists will bo Miss Joyce Seth Smith (mezzo-soprano) and Air. Arthur Ripley (tenor). Mr. A. B. Chappell, ALA., will give Ins weekly Topical Talk. During the evening there will be a - short relay from the Scots Hall of .items'by. the Auckland Orphans’ Club Orchestra. The 2YA concert programme Will be of a “popular nature.” Airs. Lurlie Eargaville, contralto, will siiig “Alifanwy” and “Aly- Braver.” Air. A. Bolton, an artist who'specialises in a j form of entertainment new to New Zealand: -radio audiences, viz., yodelling .with banjo ■ accompaniment, will ’make his first appear shoe.'; Air. S. E. Rodger, baritone,'wifi sing solos from popular musical jilays. Humorous sketches will be given by Msis Lottie Rust all and Air. AY. G. Kitchener. Reno and Arta, xylophone duo. are performing ahd_ the Salon Orchestra will pi ad. A repeat performance of Wagner's fine work. “Reinzt.” which was .played by the. Iynikbrai Ruud sonic; two months ago. is to be presented n* the 4YA concert session.
