GISBORNE CLUB AX'XUAL AIEETING About seventy members attended the annual meeting of the Gisborne Bowling Club, held in the pavilion last evening. The president, Air I. Stephenson, was in the c-hair. The report and balance-sheet (as already published;, were taken as read. In moving the adoption of the repoat and balance sheet-, the president- stated that the year had been a very successful one, both from bowling* and financial aspects. In recent years, theie had been a regular and substantial loss on the season's working, but this year this loss totalled only £25 19s 2d. Their expenditure had been very light during that time, which Avas due to the fact that such extensive AA'ork had been carried out in the previous year. Nevertheless, while they had to face their present liabilities, there was lit tie likelihood of their coming out on the credit side after a year's working, unless some definite step ivas taken to remedy the position. Air AY. H. Holmes seconded the motion, ivhich. Avas carried after a short discussiou on some minor points. Trophies .won during the season were then presented by Air J. S. Allan who explained that- he gained that honor simply by reason that, “the president and the incoming president had about collared the lot.”

Officers were elected ns follows: President-, Air FI. E. Brightr; vicepresident, Air IV. ,T. Sinclair; lion, secretary, Air AL AY. CTaig; hon. treasurer. Air S. .J. Moncrieff; committee. Alessrs J. S. Allan, L. R. Bright, YY. H. Chrisp, E. J. Clarke and C. D. Stewart; hon. auditor, Mr T. F. CraAvford ; delegates to centre, Alessrs. J. S. Allan T. F. Crawford, and 1. Stephenson. Messrs Al. AY. Craig and \V. J Hu&ston were elected c-hth selectors for the season.

Air I. Stephenson gave notice that at a, special meeting to lie called, he wotild move that a portion of the \Yainui road frontage should be sold or leased, while certain alterations would he made at the Eawiri street end.

Qn the motion of AH J. AY. H. Holmes, seconded by Air D. AicKeague, a; recommendation was made to the committee that, the rules ho carefully perused and any necessary amendments made. Four new active, members and one honorary member wore elected to the club. Hearty votes, of thanks wore passed to the retiring president. Air I. Stephenson, the hon. secretary, Air L. E. Bright, the hon. auditor. Air AT. AY. Craig, the green superintendent, Air J. S. Allan, retiring members of the. committee, Air C. D. Stewart for his work on the social committee, the retiring vice-presid-ent, Air, G. R,. F. AVat-son, Al? J. Stephenson, and the Press.
