COMMITTEE TO MEET COOK HOSPITAL BOARD.
THANKS EXPRESSED TO MINISTER,
Residents of To lag a Bay attended in good numbers at a pnblic meeting in Reynolds' Hull to consider a letter from the Minister for Healtli (Horn A. J. Stallworthyn to the Cook liosp.tal Board, in 'reference to the Iktiaga Bay Hospital. Mr. E. B. Boland presided. The chairman- explained that the main' object of the meeting was to elect a committee to meet the Cook Hospital Board, if and when they were invited to do so. Adding that d was quite realised the Cook Ho-s----p tal Board was opposed to the continuance of the fojaga Bay Hospital, he 'remarked that it would surprise local residents to know that the lev\ made for the current year had been increased from L 1,577 to £2,ICG. Guthrie were appointed a committee, with power to add. to imet I lie took Board and co-operate with them m an advr-ory capacity as suggested by the. Minister. The follow ng motion was also carried : ‘‘That this meeting recommends that the ( (ink Hospital Board he written to requesting that the amount' of ,027 I.ls 4d. with the subsidv thereon, co.lectcd for the To aga Bay Hospital grounds and acknowledged by the board's secretary on November 22, J TIG, he placed on the current year’s estimates.”
