An amazing statement to the effect that he had received an anonymous letter threatening him with death from razor blades was made In tho Legislative Assembly by the Minuter of Agriculture, Mr Thorby. when explaining recent dismissals from tho botanic gardens service.

Noy 23/ ' Tho motor ship Nicoline Maersk, of 4000 tons, from New York, carrying a cargo of kerosene and timber, grounded on the north bank when entering More ton Bay. Although tho vessel is firm in the sand, she will bo lightened and it is hoped to refloat- her at high tide.
