As an aftermath of the waterside trouble, _ Italians and others resum-ed-hostilities in a West Melbourne street' to-day,', with bottles, stones, and knives as-weapons. Two were injured, Roy Johnson, a' wharf laborer, with a knife wound in the groin, and an Italian ■ -who was hit with a bottle. Another Italian was arrested. The trouble is said to have arisen out of the vist of small boys to a shop kept, by an Italian. It is alleged that one tried to steal an ice creim ’ and was promptly kicked out. He informed his relatives and a number of men and women visited the shop and had words with the owner, but matters seemed to be smoothed over, and the crowd wa a taking the police advice to go away when a young man rushed past u constable,’ appeared- to strike the Italian,’ and fell to the ground bleeding from , a knife wound. : Then the fight was on. The Italian was joined by compatriots. Stones and bottles flew.. The Italian shopkeeper was badly wounded in the face by a stone. He rudhed inside and secured a revolver and fired- a couple of shots at the crowd, but owing to blood filling his eyes his aim was 1 poor.
