OBITUARY.

MR JOHN F. PEAKE

CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 12. The death occurred suddenly today of Mr John F. Peake, aged 49 years. Mr Peake has been secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council for the past fourteen years, and was a former well-known Rugby referee. Mr Peake’s death is believed to bo due to heart failure. He leaves a widow and a young son and a daughter. He was assistant manager tor New Zealand of the Massey-Harris Company. As a cricketer lie had a .rood record in Otago as a member of the Albion Club, and m Canterbury as a member of the West Christchurch Club. He came north from Otago in 1905. In 1924 he was manager of the New Zealand team that visited Australia, and which met with surprising successes. MR ML H. TISDALL (Press Association.> CHRISTCHURCH. Mr .Tisdall wasy widely known not only in business circles, hut as an angling and shooting enthusiast. He was several years on the council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society and was president for one term. He also held the office of treasurer and president of tlio Canterbury Automobile Association , He is survived by a widow and three sons, and a married daughter. : • ,
