Tho athletic season in Gisborne was officially ushered in last evening, when .tlie Gisborne, Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club conducted their first evening meeting. There was- 'a large atteridance of the public, ' who witnessed some fine races. Tho new track was in splendid order, • the grass being welL mowed; in 'fact, everything was conducive to fast times; ' ■.
