CHILD’S TRAGIC END. CRUSHED BY HEAVY SECTION OF ICE CHEST. rFreds. Association.* WELLINGTON, Nov. S. An inquest was held at Lower ffT.irtt this morning before Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M.. into the d*eo.th off George Ernest Costigan, 5, years, who was killed on Sunday last -by part of an ice chest falling upon'him. The evidence showed that a heiivy section of an * ice chest, weighing nearlv 3cwt., had been lying agamst a wall. The child was swinging on a. small, door, and the flection of the ice chest overbalanced.
A verdict was returned in accordance with the. evidence that, the boy died as the result of a fracture at the base of the skull through being accidentally caught under part of an ice chest, no blame being attributed to anybody. . •
