KING ON “TALKIES”

The- King unknowingly made, his first “talkie” during His speech at the opening of the Newcastle bridge. An enterprising American, newsreel man filmed the scene and recorded the speech. He had it sent to America and developed. It is stated that a remarkable reproduction was obtained. The King was invited to hear the film, and then permission-was asked to release it in the theatres.
