PIANO RECITAL.
MISS VERA MOORE’S FINAL APPEARANCE.
ENTHUSIASM AT CITY HALL.
Miss Vera Moore, . the distinguished New Zealand pianiste, bade adieu to Gisborne music lovers last night. When she tendered the last of her farewell recitals to another enthusiastic audience. The artist again scored ft wonderful triumph, her renderings including two special request numbers, which were deeply appreciated by the audience-. The recital was a truly classical one. Opening with a Bach number, prelude, attenande, sarabande gavotte nnd musette irom the English suite hi G minor, Miss Moore then turned to Beethoven, and rendered 32 variations on a theme in C minor; sonata and E flat Op. 31 (by special request), characteristic sonata _ {farewell, ab«»nee and return), aeag-o. allegro, andante expressivo and vivacissimamente. At the conclusion of prolonged applause the pianist played a Debussy bracket, ‘‘Homage a’ Rameau” and “Poissons d’Or (by special request), the numbers being very popular. The programme numbers concluded with three selections by Chopin, “Bereuse,” “Preludes in F Sharp and G Minor” and “Ballade in G Minor.” At the conclusion of the concert the performer was accorded an ovdtion such as is se'dom seen in the City Hall.
