GISBORNE A.A. AND H.C. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A committee' meeting of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and "Harrier Club, was held last evening, the chairman' (Mr. W. -Jenkins) being in the chair. There were also present Messrs A. C. Swan, E. Algid, E : . W. Forrest. J. Mercer, O. A. Remnant, A. Thorpe, C. Sutcliffe, P.. Fulton (club capt.), and J . N.* Fraser (11011. see.). It was rusol.ved that a mayoral reception to Miss Norma- Wilson, on Thursday, October lSj bo asked for, when representatives of the Borough and Cock County Councils and all sports bodies could-be invited to attend. If this function eventuates, the chairman of the club will attend and confer life membership on Miss Wilson, and present to her a gold medallion. Mr. A. Hart was elected to .the committee. Lts. Messrs. Jenkins. Fulton. Fraser and,Mason were appointed to meet the Hockey and Soccer Associations in a conference to he held to-morrow. The programme of the Kaiteratahi Sports Club’s Boxing Day meeting was received and approved. Mr. J. N. Fraser was appointed to represent the club at the smoke concert to be tendered to S. Gocclqby the Gisborne branch cf the N.Z. A. and O.U. A report was received from J. Aigic on the 00-mile championship and Palmerston North to Wellington road races. In this reference was made to the fact- that Pollard had suffered from illness and Algie had met with mishaps, both of which, factors prevented the local reps. i from doing as well as they had hoped. It was decided to forward letters ot thanks to Messrs. W. F. Ingram and A. C. Kitto. of Wellington, for their kindnesses towards the Gisborne competitors. Accounts totalling £3 11s G'-i were passed for payment.
