PROGRESS OF BILLS
iPrea* Association.s * WELLINGTON, Oct, 8. The Legislative Council met at 11.30 to-day. The Native Lands Claims and Native Land Adjustment Bill, Auckland University College, Reserves Amendment Bill, Local Legislation B.U, Copyright (Temporary) Amendment Bill, Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Amendment Bill and Engineers Registration Amendment Bill were received from the House and put through all stages and passed. The Native Land Amendment and Native Lands Claims Adjustment Bill and the Engineers Registration Amendment Bill were being attended to when the Council adjourned at 12.12 until 8 p.m. The Council sitting periodically du ring the evening received several local Bills from the House and put them through all stages and passed them without amendment. The Council finally adjourned at 12.37 a-.m, until 10.15 a.m. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES LOCAL DILLS PASSED In the House or Representatives the following local Billls were then put through. their final stages and passed; Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Bill (Mr Howard), Tumu Kaiturta Drainage Board Empowering Bill (Mr MacMillan), Motueka Borough Council Library Bill (Mr Hudson), Christchurch Hospital Amendment Bill (Mr Howard), Auckland War Memorial Museum Maintenance. Bill (Mr J. S. Dickson)- Napier Borough and Napier Harbor Board Enabling Bill (Mr J. Mason), Wairaraoa Electric Power Board Empowering Bill (Hon, A. D. McLeod), Wellington City Empowering Bill (Mr McKeen), Papanui Memorial Hall Management Bill (Mr Sullivan). NEW BILLS The Finance Bill and the Religious Charitable and Educational Trust Amendment Bill were introduced by Goveroar-GeneraPs messages and read a first time.
