DIAMONDS VALUED AT £30,000 MISSING. POLICE BELIEVE HUGE PLOT UNEARTHED. United Press Assn, by El. Tel. Copyrigm (Australian Press Association.) RIO DB JANEIRO, Oct. 6. The police believe that they have unearthed huge smuggling'operations in jewels, covering a dozen years. They have arrested Jacquim Miranda, a member of the harbor Custom staff, and arc now trying to trace a, package of diamonds worth £30,000. The; police are unable to tell whethor the package was safely carried asliore or dropped overboard, and for ever lost in the centre' of Rio’s deep harbor.
