Godfrev Naylor, 19. late of the training ship Cornwall, who at boutliend was sent to. prison for three months > for stealing a yacht worth £IOO from its moorings at Canvey Island, was stated to have 1 been shipwrecked and rescued off Deal. George Buck!,- a boatman, of Bench Street, Deal, said lie saw a sailing boat in the Channel on June -1 with her sails gone. He put on anu brought her to Dover because the prisoner, who was aboard, told him that that was where the- owner hved. Accused also stated that he left Southend three days before and had had no food. “I fed him and promised to see him later, but he did,not turn up/’'! witness added! . It was stated that Naylor was arrested outside Wandsworth Prison after serving a. sentence for stealing a boat at Dover.
