TOKOMARU BAY NOTES

GARDEN PARTY

(Special To The Times). TOKOMARU BAY, Oct. 5

A farewell in the form of a garden party wasi tendered to Matron and Miss Allan by the ladies ol W<aipiro Bay in the beautiful grounds of Mrs. A. M. Beale, kindly lent for the occasion. During the afternoon, tennis and was indulged in bv some of the guests after which a most enjoyable ana dainty afternoon tea was served. On behalf of the residents of Waipiro Bay, Mr. Bradley presented the Misses' Allan with a cheque speaking of the high esteem in which the ladies were held in the district., tie went 011 to say how sorry all would be to lose them and that the good wishes' of those present vould go with them to their new sphere ‘ These remarks were endorsed by the Revs. Anderson and Stewart-. Miss W Allan responded for herself and .her sister. Mrs. Beale wore a frock of figured rayon; Miss Allan, navy blue rayon, with a sleeveless cardigan to tone; Miss : W. Captain and Mrs. Plummer have returned from Auckland, where their younger son recently underwent a operation, but he is. non- probaa returned from a trip to Auckland. , Mrs. John MacDonald is at present holidaying in Napier. - Mr. L. E. Dodd, Bank of New South Wales, - is .at present in Gisk Miss Cusworth and Miss Margaret Aligns have left on an .expensive holiday in the North ’lsland.
