ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report c-f the East Const Acclimatisation Society states s, The income and expenditure aero lint shows nn excess of expenditureover income of £.13 9s Sd. This is accounted for by the fact that, dun no the year, we were authorised to spend the sum of £IOO on stocking the Hangaron. and AVharekopae streams with trout. An order was placed for 150,000 ova and the necessary troughs etc., were purchased and sent to the tlire© places where the hatching was carried out; of tin's amount £9B 13s Bel was spent. The hatching was.not as successful as it might have been, owing to the fact that the hatcheries were not. equipped with proper boxes, and trays, and it iis suggested that one set of hatching material be obtained from Iho Tourist Department for next season. - We. are also.to get 25,000 ova free on account of the last quota not being up to standard. Approximately 125.000 frv were liberated in the streams mentioned. Some good fishing has been obtained this year in the Rangaroa river, and also some very good trout were caught in the AVhaivkopae. The efforts of the 'Society to establish trout in these streams is now being rewarded, hut, of course. wo will have to continue stocking every for some time, to come.
