LITTLE BUSINESS

Very little business is being transacted at the moment in any lines of produce. During the week one or two small sales of maize were made to Auckland at prices round [5% Qd to os 9d f.o.b.'s.i. MATAWHER.O STOCK SALE. PRICES! FULLY MAINTAINED. There was a good attendance at the Matawhero stock sale yesterday, and prices were about on a par with late rates. , STORE SHEEP. The entry of -store sheep Avas very largo for this time of the year, totalling 14,600. Despite the large entry, there Avas a keen' demand, and an excellent sale at prices perhaps a shade easier than those of last sale. The host price for eAves was £1 4s 6d, for a pen of maiden sheep with dense skins and full of condition; AvellgroAvn 2-ths, in great order, realised £l 4s ; a pen, of 285 mixed aged eAves m good condition made £1 0s 6d; a lino of 222 fresh conditioned >2, 4 and 6-ths was passed at £1; 246 4 and 6-th eAves, good in size and condition ip), 19s 8d; a pen of small 2-th eAves m good order made 18s 9d; goodfVamed and conditioned old ewes ran from 16s to 17 s. A first-class lot of 197 empty oaa-ps, genuine lab and l'onvard, made 18s :;d • good forAvard empty ewes sold from 15s to l’7s. Wethers A\-ere a fairly big entry, and a pen of 120 prime heavy sheep made £1 8s 2d: and a lot of 49, just about fat, made £1 os 6d; a pen of 163 2 and 4-tlis with plenty of condition sold at £1 4s 4d, and 178 fair-size, late shorn, reached £1 2s 3d. Small 2-th Avettiers m good store condition made £1 Os Jld and 19s 2d. Woolly lambs, Avith plenty of size and condition made up to 18s 6<l in tAvo instances, and another pen reached 18s Id. Big, good conditioned shorn lambs sold at 17s 3s and 17s Id, and good shorn made 16s lid and 18s. Good average, AvellgroAvn shorn lambs made 14s 6d.

FAT SHEEP There Avas a record entry of fat sheep totalling 1078. Avhich met Avith a good sale. First-class erves from Mr Beaufoy’s station made 245, and a good line of very big-framed eAves from Mr W. Morice’s station at Tiniroto realised £1 2s lOd.
