SAFE STOLEN.
BURGLARS BUSY AT WYNDHAM. SUM OF £4O MASSING. (t>rps«i Association.INVERCARGILL, April 19. Early this morning burglars broke into two business premises at Wyndhani, and succeeded in making away with £4O. The firms concerned were Jver.se and Co.’s garage, and the l nit eel Trading and Manufacturing
When Air. Kerse came down this morning he found the back door prised open, the office door smashed, and the office- m utmost confusion. Tbe safe had been removed. Tyre marks outside the back door showed that a car had been used to remove the sale, which the thieves intended to break at their leisure. Mr Kerse states that the safe contained £4O in cash. The United Trading Co. was fortunate in losing only a tew sinkings. The company banks daily, and the thieves, presumably knowing this, did not attempt to remove the safe. So far no arrest lias been made, but the make of the tyre is discernible lroiu the wheel marks, and the police are investigating.
