PROSPEROUS NEW ZEALAND.
(To the Editor.)
' Sir, —At the foot of this letter 3 am giving a list! of figures showing th'o -export#' of our pastoral products in value and quantities taking two ten-year periods. Mr G. S. Cray, of Timaru, kindly made these figures out for me from the Year Book, aud •they prove how well this country has done the last ten years, which lev people seem to realise, and there is no reason why the exports should not ho doublet! during the next ten years, making New Zealand the mostprosperous dominion within the Empire. All that is wantecl is more confidence in our country, the farmers to go in for more, top dressing of their land, the Government to see that they get cheap fertilisers, a nr), the hanks to reduce their rates on overdraft. If * these methods are carried out there is nothing to keep New Zealand from going ahead •by “leaps and bounds.”—l am, sir, BERNARD TRIPP. . G-leniti, Timaru, April 14. '
