'The autumn meeting of the Avondale Jockey Club concluded to-day in fine weather. There was a good attendance and the course was in excellent order. • All started in the Avondale Hurdles, the opening event of the day. Lady Cintra was a slightly better favorite than Uralla, with Lady Spalpeen next in demand. Coming to the first fence along the back the order was Lady Cintra- Karamu, Lady Spalpeen} Uralla and Pekatahi. Kara mu then took charge and passed the stand from Lady Cintra, Lady Spalpeen and Uralla, who were racing together. Pekatahi fell at the fence coming into the straight. Along the back Karamu led Lady Cintra, Lady Spalpeen and Uralla, and the order was the same across tiro top where Uralla came to grief. Turning for home Karamu was showing the way to Lady Spalpeen and Lady Cintra (who had both been jumping badly), and this was the order as they passed the post, where Karamu had an advantage of three lengths from Lady Spalpeen, who was a similar distance in front of Lady Cintra. C. Hastings, rider of Pekatahi, sustained a broken collaT-bone. Restaurant was the only defection from the Dominion Handicap, for which there were twenty-live runners. Parfait Armour, who was favorite, carried £915, Bombarder £6BO and The Foy £626 being next in demand. At the start, Luminary, Josie Melville, Parfait Armor, .Bombarder, Diamond Queen and Ponticus wero the first to show out. Josie Melville was in the lead crossing the top with the order of the others little changed, although Miss Myrtle and The Fox had both moved up. As they came into the straight Josie Melville led. Luminary, Parfait Armour, Bombarder.! Miss. Myrtle and Kyngzone, and in a good finish Luminary got the decision by threequarters of a length from The Fox, who beat Parfait Armour by a neck. Miss Myrtle was fourth, followed by Maori -Boy, Bombarder, Kyngzone, Moe Hall, Princess Rain , Ponticus, Double Mint and Kaihore Mai,

All the acceptors paraded for ’the Nursery Handicap, for which the public selected the bracket Lucy Rose and Elope as first choice, with £B9O invested on their number, while Jolly Money and Perception were also solidly backed. When the field settled down Te Atiawa. Avon Court Gbld Money, White Wings, Jolly Money, Valqette, Lucy Rose} and Perception were racing in that order and crossing the top To Atiawa was showing the way te. Fancv Boy. Eleven wont to the post for the Waitakero ..Handicap, for which King Mery was made favorite, the next in request being Ti Tree and Judge s Box, who aksfe came, in for solid backing. When the field settled down Whaka King was. in charge, attended by Prince Lu, Miss Mercia, King Merv, and Ti Tree, and they raced across the x top in that position with Oration and Judge’s Box also well up. Tho order turning into the straight was Whaka. King, Prince Lu, Miss Mercia, King Merv, Wee Marble, Ti Tree, King: Emerald and Oration. In tho run to the' post King Merv came through to win by a lengtli from Ti Tree,.who bent Oration by two lengths. Flying Juliet and Llandudno failed to parade for the chief event, the Autumn Handicap, and Valkon was elected favorite with . £1402 on his chance, the next best supported being Branson (£1215) and In the Shade wlm had £llsß invested on his number. Dayguard was the early lea’ der from Hipo, Branson, Papatu, Master Doon, Tinokoa, Tn the Shade, Valkon and True Blood. As they crossed the top, Dayguard was six lengths clear of the field, the next in order being Hipo, Branson, Master Doon, In the Shade, Papatu, Valkon, Tinokoa and True Blood. Whaka King then drew out and led into the straight from Wyoming, Desert Knight, Catapult, and Restaurant. In a good finish. Micrometer came through and wearing down the loaders beat Restaurant) by a neck, with Arch Queen threequarters of a length-away thirdRespirator, Auriculus . Wyoming. All went to the post for the Morningside Handicap, and Mervette was made favorite, carrying £l4-98 with Le Choucas £1262, and Aumoulus £lllß next fancied. Mervette led along the back from Matinee, Ouincoma, Le Choucas, Winsome •Boy. and Archono. Crossing the (op the order was Matinee, Mervette. Ouincoma, Le Choucas, Aroheno.
