Cyclroad raring for the professionals is starting early this season, sis the union has a big programme of events to run oil’, and judging from the interest already shown by the riders, this season promises to ho the best .since pre-war days. 'Several old riders who it was thought had retired for good, have settled down to training for the coming events, and several new riders are coming out lor the first time. 1 1 is to notice at least one rider, ‘’Ginger” Gooch, lias again made his re-appearance. W 1 ien Gooch was at the top ot lius form about three seasons ago, he was the makings of a New Zealand champion, and from all accounts he stdl knows how to pedal the iron 'steijd. Gooch undoubtedly will make his , presence felt before the season is over. Nominatioins for the eight mile road race, to he hold on May 10, close with Mr. Allan Sutton on Saturday, May 5, at 5 i) m. All nominations must be on the official entry form, accompanied by the last two years’ performances. •
