- - Association.) WELLINGTON, April 16. The Dominion Meteorologist’s evening forecast is as follows? A deep depression has crossed the South Island and pressure is falling rapidly to the eastward of New Zealand. An intense anti-cyclone remains over Australia. Moderate to strong winds reaching gale force on parts of the East Coast, direction between north and west at first from Cook Strait onwards and south westerlies elsewhere, and later becoming general. Moderate seas uorth of Kawliia and East Cape; elsewhere rather rough 'to rough in New Zealand waters, fresh to strong southwesterlies and rough seas in the eastern half of the Tasman Sea. Weather generally cloudy and unsettled, with showers heavy in places. A cold change is advancing from the south.
